Some unhappy news has come out of Mayweather Boxing and Fitness in Los Angeles, where employees claim they haven’t received paychecks “in weeks.” According to reports from the Daily Mail, the disgruntled staff not only walked out but also staged a protest outside the gym, hoisting signs that read "The $ (Money) Team has no $" and "Hard work, dedication… and then what?"
Some more pointed accusations referred to "labor trafficking" and "modern-day slavery." They insist that despite Floyd Mayweather’s reputation (and nickname "Money"), he’s failing to keep his own staff paid. One unnamed employee suggested Mayweather either doesn’t know or doesn’t care about the alleged pay issues, saying, "I was told we can’t tell him our studio’s closing… we’ve been silenced."
Mayweather, famous for flaunting his wealth and once claiming over a billion dollars in real estate holdings, hasn't commented publicly on these allegations. While there’s always two sides to every story, the protesting employees say they’ve gotten radio silence from the former champ. For now, the staff are making their voices heard - signs, microphones, and all - emphasizing that even the "Money Team" can’t live on brand recognition alone. Whether or not Mayweather can smooth things over remains to be seen.
