Chris Billam-Smith says he is open to extending his relationship with Boxxer as his current promotional deal nears its end. The former WBO cruiserweight champion is contracted until the end of the year and admits his future is not yet decided, but he made clear that his experience with Boxxer has left a lasting impression.

Billam-Smith boxed just once in 2025, scoring a win over Brandon Glanton in April at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. While he may have hoped for another major bout, the lighter schedule has allowed the 35-year-old to spend valuable time at home following the birth of his second child.

It was under Boxxer’s banner that Billam-Smith achieved one of the defining moments of his career, winning a world title in front of his home supporters at Bournemouth AFC’s Vitality Stadium. He credited the promotional partnership with transforming Bournemouth into a genuine boxing town, citing sold-out fights at the Bournemouth International Centre and high-profile events staged across the city as a source of pride.

Billam-Smith also addressed Boxxer’s shift away from Sky Sports to a new relationship with the BBC, calling the broadcaster’s reach appealing for British fighters. He suggested the exposure could play a significant role in growing a boxer’s profile and said the prospect of fighting again in Bournemouth, potentially on the BBC platform, was an attractive one.

Although he acknowledged frustration at fighting only once this year, Billam-Smith believes the time away from the ring has ultimately been beneficial. With personal milestones, family growth, and a renewed perspective on his career, he says the break has given him fresh motivation and clarity as he looks ahead to the next chapter of his boxing journey.
