Yesterday fight fans were treated to a thrilling showdown between Blair "The Flair" Cobbs and former four-division world champion Adrien "The Problem" Broner. The atmosphere was charged as these two fighters squared off, promising an intense battle.
Blair "The Flair" Cobbs thoroughly outclassed Adrien "The Problem" Broner over ten rounds, securing a unanimous decision victory. Cobbs dominated from the outset, scoring a knockdown in the second round and dictating the pace throughout the bout. The judges' scores were 97-91, 96-93, and 96-93. Despite the generous scores from some judges, Broner failed to perform effectively, struggling against Cobbs’ superior tactics.
Cobbs started strong, dropping Broner in the second round with a powerful shot that also knocked out one of Broner's teeth. Broner, now 34, looked far removed from his prime years, lacking the agility and power that once defined his career. Throughout the fight, Cobbs exploited Broner's stiffness and defensive flaws, landing hard punches and consistently working the body with effective jabs.
As the fight progressed, Cobbs continued to dominate while Broner attempted to mount a comeback in the later rounds. However, Broner's efforts were insufficient as his punches lacked the power to trouble Cobbs. By the final bell, it was clear that Cobbs had delivered a commanding performance, leaving Broner's future in the sport in doubt.
In the co-main event, Michael Hunter delivered a masterclass performance against WBA #7 Cassius Chaney, winning a one-sided ten-round fight with scores of 100-90 from all judges. Additionally, former world cruiserweight champion Yuniel Dorticos quickly dispatched Alan Campa with a first-round knockout. Other notable bouts included Ian Green's hard-fought victory over Roy Barringer and Antonio Perez's unanimous decision win against Antonio Williams, capped off by Yosdiel Napoles' swift knockout of Wister Garcia.
