Errol Spence Jr. is set to make his return to the ring at 154lbs against WBC light-middleweight champion . The bout is scheduled for October in Dallas, Texas, marking Spence's first fight since his defeat to Terence Crawford in their undisputed welterweight title clash in July 2023.

Fundora earned the fight with Spence after an unexpected victory over Tim Tszyu in March. Following his win, Spence immediately called him out, stating:

“It’s time to get it on. He got a pretty good height, but we’ll see. We’ll break him down like we always do.”

Promoters Premier Boxing Champions aim to hold the fight at AT&T Stadium, where Spence previously secured victories against Mikey Garcia and Yordenis Ugas.

This match will be Spence's debut in the light-middleweight division, after much speculation about whether he would exercise his rematch clause with Crawford. Additionally, it marks his first fight since parting ways with his long-term trainer Derrick James, with whom he is currently embroiled in a financial dispute.

Crawford, also moving up to 154lbs, is scheduled to fight Israil Madrimov for the WBA title on August 3 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. This event will feature Tim Tszyu, who lost his undefeated record to Fundora, taking on Vergil Ortiz Jr.
