Pyramids of Giza hosted a major heavyweight event with Oleksandr Usyk and Rico Verhoeven headlining a card that also featured world title fights and several important results across multiple divisions.
In the main event, Oleksandr Usyk retained his WBC heavyweight title with an 11th-round stoppage over Rico Verhoeven. Verhoeven made the fight difficult early with his size, pressure, and heavy right hands, forcing Usyk into several competitive rounds. Usyk gradually adjusted behind his jab, movement, and counters before breaking Verhoeven down late and forcing the referee to stop the fight during a sustained attack in round 11.
