Eddie Hearn believes Frank Sanchez could present a more difficult challenge for Moses Itauma than Filip Hrgovic because of the Cuban heavyweight’s movement, counterpunching and power.
“I’ll tell you a fight that’s actually more difficult for Moses that he’ll have to fight: Frank Sanchez,” Hearn told DAZN Boxing.
Sanchez is ranked No. 1 by the IBF and is expected to face the winner of Itauma-Hrgovic after stepping aside for their vacant title fight. The 34-year-old strengthened his position by stopping Olympic silver medallist Richard Torrez Jr. in the second round in May.
Hearn believes Hrgovic’s more upright and aggressive style could suit Itauma better, while Sanchez’s ability to change distance and counter could create different problems.
Under the reported IBF arrangement, the Itauma-Hrgovic winner would be required to face Sanchez next unless the sanctioning body grants an exception.
