Eddie Hearn has made it clear that his relationship with Conor Benn is beyond repair, admitting he now questions everything he was told after previously standing firmly behind the fighter during a difficult period.
Speaking candidly, Hearn acknowledged a complete breakdown in trust. “Yes, without a doubt,” he said when asked if the relationship was over. Reflecting on the situation, he added that learning more details in hindsight has caused him to reassess past interactions and statements.
The shift marks a sharp contrast from Hearn’s earlier support, when he publicly backed Benn following two failed drug tests. That loyalty has now turned into doubt, with the promoter suggesting that new information has changed his perspective on the entire situation.
The fallout has also had wider implications. Hearn confirmed that his breakdown with Benn’s manager, Keith Connolly, effectively closed the door on working with fighters such as Edgar Berlanga and Richardson Hitchins, both of whom have since aligned with Zuffa Boxing.
Now operating under a different promotional structure, Benn is expected to pursue major fights, including a potential clash with Ryan Garcia. Meanwhile, Hearn suggested that the experience could change how he approaches relationships with fighters moving forward.
