31-year-old WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol told when he could end his career as a professional boxer.
“In terms of years, I don’t know. But I want to think about the feeling and my potential. Perhaps next year I will achieve everything and leave. Maybe I'll be performing for another five years. I don't want to fight at 40, to be honest.”
I still have fun and still live in the ring. When my training camp and fight are over, I feel like I need to relax. I rest for a few weeks and I understand that I need something. I need to train again, find a target and an opponent,” Bivol said.
Nevertheless, as of December 2022, Promoter Eddie Hearn has already named a possible next fight for WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol. “We wanted Saul Alvarez to fight Bivol in the next fight, but it's clear that the competition in the division isn’t improving right now. Dmitry made a mandatory title defense by defeating Gilberto Ramirez and now, after Canelo's denial, Joshua Buatsi could be Bivol's next opponent.”
