British heavyweights Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce are reportedly closing in on a fight set for April 5th in Manchester, England. The bout is planned to headline a DAZN event.

At 36, Whyte is battling to keep his hopes of a lucrative rematch with Anthony Joshua alive. The “Body Snatcher” showed signs of decline in his last outing, laboring to a seventh-round stoppage win over Ebenezer Tetteh in December. Still, promoter Eddie Hearn believes Whyte can land another big fight if he delivers an impressive showing in Manchester.

Joyce, meanwhile, is scheduled to face Patrick Korte on March 1st in what appears to be a tune-up before the April clash. The 39-year-old “Juggernaut,” once viewed as a top contender, has lost some luster in recent years, including a surprise defeat to Dereck Chisora and back-to-back stoppages against Zhilei Zhang in 2023. Still, Joyce won an Olympic silver medal at the 2016 Games and initially rose quickly in the pro ranks due to his mix of power and stamina.
