Devin Haney is expected to return to the ring on May 30 in Las Vegas against Rolando “Rolly” Romero, according to his father and trainer Bill Haney.

Haney moved up to welterweight last year and captured the WBO title in his debut at 147 pounds with a victory over Brian Norman Jr. The 27-year-old has since expressed interest in facing the biggest names in the division.

Bill Haney revealed in an interview with FightHype that negotiations for a fight with Romero had been completed. The matchup would see Haney attempt to unify titles at welterweight before pursuing other major bouts.

Romero currently holds the WBA welterweight title after defeating Ryan Garcia last year. The belt later became the full championship when Jaron Ennis vacated it following his move up to the super welterweight division
