Gervonta "Tank" Davis announced on Instagram that his March 1st fight against Lamont Roach has been canceled. Davis didn’t provide a reason for the cancellation, stating only, "The fight is f%$#^ng cancel."
The announcement has been met with widespread approval from fans on social media, many of whom criticized the matchup as a mismatch as Roach was seen as an unworthy opponent for Davis. Fans were particularly vocal about their disappointment, especially since the fight was set to be a pay-per-view event.

Originally scheduled for December 14, the fight had already been postponed once due to venue issues. It was later rescheduled for March 1 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Despite the backlash, Premier Boxing Champions has yet to confirm the cancellation.
Roach added to the uncertainty by posting a workout video on Instagram shortly after Davis’ statement, suggesting he might not have been informed. Without an official statement from PBC, it remains unclear whether the fight is officially off.
