David Price believes Fabio Wardley is the man to pick ahead of Saturday’s WBO heavyweight title fight against Daniel Dubois at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester.
Wardley enters the fight with major momentum after knockout wins over Joseph Parker and Justis Huni in 2025. Those victories first made him interim WBO champion, before he was elevated to full champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt.
Dubois is trying to become a two-time world champion after losing his IBF title in a second defeat to Usyk last summer. Before that setback, he had rebuilt impressively with a win over Filip Hrgovic and a dominant stoppage of Anthony Joshua in his first title defense.
Price believes the key question is how much the Usyk loss has taken out of Dubois mentally. He noted that Dubois has again faced criticism over whether he could have continued, and said the response could either fuel him or make him retreat into himself.
Still, Price gives the edge to Wardley because of his recent form and hand speed. He warned that Dubois can be hit clean and said Wardley’s sharpness could create serious problems if he stays alert.
Wardley vs. Dubois headlines this weekend in Manchester, with Wardley defending his WBO belt and Dubois looking for an immediate return to the top of the heavyweight division.
