David Haye has suggested that Oleksandr Usyk should not be unbeaten, pointing to his 2020 fight with Derek Chisora as a bout he believes was wrongly scored.

Usyk has built his record against elite opposition across both cruiserweight and heavyweight. However, Haye believes there was one moment where that record should have changed. “If you rewatch that first fight, it was very, very close. I thought that he won, lots of people did.”

The fight in question saw Usyk defeat Chisora by decision, though it was competitive throughout, with Chisora applying constant pressure early on. Haye argued that performance could justify a rematch if circumstances align. “There is an opportunity, if he wins this fight, where, against the undisputed number one heavyweight on the planet… to have this mega fight.”

Chisora himself has echoed similar sentiments in the past, maintaining that he did enough to win their first meeting, even as Usyk’s movement and control were widely credited with securing the official decision.
