Dana White has called for a potential showdown between Oleksandr Usyk and Jai Opetaia, suggesting a cross-division fight between two undefeated champions.

Usyk, who remains unbeaten in 24 professional fights, has already outlined a three-fight plan before retirement. That run is expected to begin against Rico Verhoeven in May, followed by two bouts against British opponents.

Opetaia was not part of that plan.

However, White made his intentions clear. “I want to see the best fighters in the world fight the best fighters in the world,” he said. “I would like to see Jai Opetaia fight Usyk.”

The suggestion comes at a time when Opetaia’s position is shifting. After recently being stripped of his IBF cruiserweight title, he now holds a Zuffa championship and could move toward heavyweight in the near future.

For now, the matchup remains unlikely. Usyk’s schedule is already outlined, and his next fight set at the Pyramids of Giza is expected to draw significant attention.
