Rising junior welterweight prospect Dalton Smith has been forced to withdraw from his highly anticipated fight with Jon Fernandez on September 28 in Sheffield due to an injury.
With Smith sidelined, there are discussions about potentially relocating the event to a different venue, with London’s Copper Box Arena emerging as a likely candidate. The undercard features heavyweight Romford sensation John Fisher, who is slated to face Andrii Rudenko. Fisher, who delivered a stunning 36-second knockout of Alen Babic in July at the Copper Box, could once again headline the venue if the event is moved south.
In addition to Fisher’s bout, the card boasts several other intriguing matchups. The WBO lightweight title fight between Rhiannon Dixon and Terri Harper is expected to draw significant attention, as both fighters look to make their mark in the division. Liverpool’s junior featherweight talent Peter McGrail will also be in action, taking on Brad Foster in what promises to be a competitive bout.
Matchroom Boxing’s busy schedule continues on October 26 in Manchester at the Co-op Arena, where Jack Catterall and Regis Prograis are set to meet in a rescheduled showdown. The original fight date was postponed due to a training injury suffered by Catterall. Fans can also look forward to the potential return of Campbell Hatton, who may seek redemption in a rematch against James Flint, the only man to defeat him in his 15-fight career.
