Jaron Ennis has dismissed comments from Terence Crawford suggesting that Sebastian Fundora could hand him his first defeat.
Crawford, who retired in December without facing Ennis despite years of speculation around a potential showdown, recently claimed that Fundora is the man most likely to beat “Boots” at 154lbs. The former undisputed champion pointed to the WBC titleholder as the division’s top threat.
Ennis, however, showed little concern when asked about those remarks. “Ha. I don’t know why though. None of that stuff be bothering me,” he said. “I am the best at 154lbs. Everybody know it and I’mma keep standing every time out.”
The undefeated contender now turns his attention to a major opportunity against Xander Zayas in June. A victory would see Ennis become a two-division unified champion, marking the biggest step of his career so far.
