Conor Benn has described leaving Matchroom Boxing and signing with Zuffa Boxing as the “best thing I’ve ever done,” saying the move was made with his family’s future in mind.
Speaking on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Benn said the Zuffa deal changed his life and opened the door to a world title fight with Ryan Garcia in Las Vegas. He also praised the way Zuffa has treated him since joining the company.
“The life I wanted for me and my family was on the other side of that deal,” Benn said. “I’ve made the best decision for me and my family.”
Benn stressed that his priority is securing his family’s future rather than protecting relationships with promoters or boxing companies. He said he wants to leave the sport on his own terms and ensure his wife and children are financially secure.
Despite the strong comments about leaving Matchroom, Benn has still referred to Hearn as a “friend,” suggesting he separates their personal relationship from his business decision.
