Nathaniel Collins and Cristobal Lorente both made weight ahead of their featherweight rematch, set to take place at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow. The pair will meet again over 12 rounds in a WBC eliminator, six months after their first encounter ended in a closely contested draw.
Collins came in at 125.4lbs, just one pound heavier than Lorente, who weighed 124.4lbs. Their previous fight, also held in Glasgow, was decided by scorecards of 115-113, 113-115, and 114-114, leaving both men without a clear winner.
Reflecting on that bout, Collins admitted he let the occasion influence his approach. “I just felt the need to show entertainment or the need to provide a knockout,” he said, acknowledging that he pushed too hard in search of a stoppage.
For the rematch, the Scottish fighter plans a more measured performance. He has made it clear that securing victory is the priority this time, even if it means going the full distance.
