Chris Eubank Jr could be in line for another world title opportunity after being targeted by WBO interim middleweight champion Denzel Bentley following his latest victory.

Bentley called out Eubank Jr after stopping Endry Saavedra, naming him among the top opponents he wants next alongside Liam Smith and Brad Pauls. He pointed to Eubank’s current activity around 164lbs but suggested a return to middleweight could open the door for a major domestic clash.

Eubank Jr, who has not fought for a major world title since his 2018 loss to George Groves, has remained one of British boxing’s most recognizable names. Despite speculation about retirement following his rematch defeat to Conor Benn last November, he has confirmed plans to continue, with a potential catchweight bout against Michael Zerafa under consideration.

Bentley’s ambitions could align with changes at the top of the division. With current WBO champion Janibek Alimkhanuly suspended and potentially considering a move up in weight, Bentley may soon be elevated to full champion status, increasing the appeal of a fight with Eubank.

“He’s someone who has always wanted to be a world champion… maybe this belt could be the ticket,” Bentley said.
