Unified lightweight champion Caroline Dubois has parted ways with trainer Shane McGuigan and will relocate to the United States ahead of her next title defense. Dubois will defend her WBC and WBO lightweight belts against unbeaten American Amelia Moore on August 29 at bp pulse LIVE in Birmingham.
The 25-year-old worked with McGuigan throughout her professional career after turning pro in 2021, recording 13 victories and one draw during their partnership.
“I had a phenomenal time with Shane,” Dubois said. “There’s been no bitterness, no break-up, no clash, no drift. This is the next step I need to help me progress.”
Dubois did not officially identify her new trainer, although she is understood to be joining American coach Manny Robles. Victory over Moore could lead to further unification fights against WBA champion Stephanie Han or IBF titleholder Elif Nur Turhan.
The all-female card will be headlined by Chantelle Cameron against Mikaela Mayer in a super lightweight unification, while Terri Harper faces Miranda Reyes and new MVP signing Skye Nicolson defends her WBC super bantamweight title against Miyo Yoshida.
