A domestic showdown between Callum Simpson and Troy Williamson is officially on the way, with both parties reaching an agreement according to Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn.
Simpson has emerged as one of Boxxer’s key assets since capturing the European super-middleweight title in June with a stoppage win over Italy’s Ivan Zucco. Already the British and Commonwealth champion at 168lbs, the Barnsley native continues to build momentum under Boxxer’s new broadcast partnership with the BBC, following the end of their Sky Sports deal.

The upcoming clash with Williamson is Simpson’s next major test - and another step toward his goal of defending the British title three times to win the Lonsdale Belt outright. Hearn confirmed: “We’ve agreed a deal for Troy Williamson to fight Callum Simpson, so that will be Boxxer’s next show – Callum Simpson against Troy Williamson. That will be in November, December.”
While a purse bid had been considered for a potential Simpson vs. Hamzah Sheeraz European title fight, that option is now off the table. Frank Warren dismissed the matchup, saying, “That ain’t gonna happen. Hamzah’s well past that. I’m in the Hamzah Sheeraz business – he’ll have better opportunities than that.”
The fight is expected to headline an upcoming Boxxer card later this year.
