Gervonta Davis may be moving closer to a boxing return after an unexpected moment on Adrien Broner’s Kick stream appeared to reveal that the lightweight star has been back in the gym. During the live conversation, trainer Kevin Cunningham told Broner: “You know your boy was here.” When Broner asked, “For real? He pulled up?” Cunningham added: “He’s training…”

That short exchange quickly triggered speculation among fans, especially with Davis having stayed mostly quiet since his controversial draw with Lamont Roach. His future has also been clouded by ongoing legal issues, while major fight possibilities have continued to float around the lightweight division.

For Davis, simply being seen around training again changes the discussion. Names such as Vasiliy Lomachenko, Shakur Stevenson, Isaac Cruz, Floyd Schofield and Roach have all been linked to possible future fights, and the division has kept moving during his absence.

There is also an ironic Broner angle to the story. Broner himself has been training with Cunningham after stepping away from streaming with Deen The Great, but fans have questioned whether the former champion can still make something of the final years of his career after fighting only twice since signing with Don King in 2023.

Davis has also spoken in the past about needing to “rehabilitate” himself and possibly drain “all the boxing” out of his body. But if Cunningham’s comment is anything to go by, Davis may not be done yet. At the very least, the stream seems to have given fans the first real sign that “Tank” is moving back toward boxing.
