Brian Norman Jr. is starting a new chapter outside the ring after announcing the creation of his own promotional company, Throwback Boxing Promotions. The former WBO welterweight champion will serve as CEO, with Jolene Mizzone named president of the company.

Norman revealed that the company’s first signing is hard-hitting southpaw Edwin De Los Santos, who will also be co-promoted by Zuffa Boxing.

“This is Throwback Boxing Promotions, and that word throwback means so much to me,” Norman said in the press release. “There are a lot of old school fighters that lost to the business of boxing and couldn’t get an opportunity to show their talents. We will be the ones that give those hidden gems their opportunity to shine.”

De Los Santos, a 26-year-old from the Dominican Republic, said he is eager to begin working with Norman and his new company. “I’m excited to work with Brian Norman Jr.,” he said. “He has shown to be a brother in this transition. I consider myself a throwback fighter. I’ll fight the best, anywhere, anytime. The name fits who we are.”

Norman was elevated to WBO welterweight champion in 2024 and defended the title twice before losing a unanimous decision to Devin Haney in November. Now ranked among the top welterweights, Norman begins building his promotional venture while continuing the next phase of his boxing career.
