On Yesterday’s fight night, Erika Cruz (15-2, 3 KOs), the WBA World Featherweight Champion, took on Amanda "The Real Deal" Serrano (44-2-1, 30 KOs), the IBF, IBO, WBC, and WBO Featherweight Champion.
As a result, Amanda Serrano out-brawled WBA title Erika Cruz in an entertaining fight-of-the-year candidate, earning a 10-round unanimous decision to become the undisputed champion at Madison Square Garden in New York. Cruz outpunched Serrano in most of the rounds because of her greater power and work rate, but despite her harder landing blows, the judges did not award her the victory.

In the co-main event, WBC, WBO, IBO, WBA, and IBF Super Feather champion Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner (14-1, 7 KOs) successfully defended her belts against former WBC Interim champion Elhem “The Diamond” Mekhaled (15-2, 3 KOs).
Baumgardner knocked Mekhaled down twice in the third round, but then gassed out and fought on fumes for the next seven rounds. Mekhaled fought well enough to win at least five, if not six, of the previous seven fights. The judges’ scores were, maybe, too broad on Baumgardner’s mind.
