Liam Paro is confident that his boxing intelligence will help him dethrone IBF light welterweight champion Subriel Matias on June 15th. The fight, which will be held at the Coliseo Juan Aubin Cruz Abreu in Manati, Puerto Rico, will be broadcast live on DAZN.

Paro feels that his recent wins demonstrate his growth and readiness to take on Matias. Despite these victories, there are questions about the level of his previous opponents, as they were not top-tier contenders. Before his recent success, Paro narrowly defeated Yomar Alamo in a ten-round split decision in 2021, a performance that highlighted some of his struggles.

"I’m more than ready for June 15th," Paro told to Secondsout. "I’ve had a beautiful camp with beautiful sparring and preparation. We’re surely prepared for this task. We know what Matias brings to the table. I believe I have the boxing ability and the IQ to beat this guy."

Paro's plan seems to be to outbox Matias, but considering the fight is in Matias' home country, a decision win might be challenging to secure.

Paro's confidence is also bolstered by his victory over Montana Love, which he sees as a stepping stone to his current opportunity. "I had a beautiful win over Montana Love and Matchroom signed Subriel Matias, and I got offered that opportunity with the IBF title," Paro said. However, he needs to be cautious not to overestimate this victory, as Matias is a much tougher opponent than Love.

Despite the challenges, Paro remains determined.

"I won a lot of fans over on that night, and that’s what I’ll continue to do with my career."
