American boxer Hannah Rapp has died at the age of 26 after being struck by a vehicle while cycling in Texas.
According to the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, Rapp was hit by a reversing vehicle on Saturday morning and transported to hospital, where she later died despite emergency treatment.
Rapp had fought just one month earlier, losing on points to Tiara Brown in a WBC featherweight title challenge on a Most Valuable Promotions card.
Jake Paul led the tributes, writing: “Condolences to all of Hannah’s family, friends and teammates. RIP warrior.”
Most Valuable Promotions described Rapp as a gifted athlete and deeply respected member of the boxing community, while Brown said it had been an honor to share the ring with her and promised to keep her name alive.
A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with manslaughter. Authorities said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
