Eventually, David Benavidez showcased his youthful energy and high work rate on Saturday night, successfully defending his interim WBC super middleweight title by defeating Caleb Plant in a 12-round unanimous decision at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The judges’ scores were 115-113, 116-112, and 117-111. The victor of this clash is anticipated to challenge the reigning undisputed super middleweight champion, Canelo Alvarez.

In the undercard, super featherweight Chris Colbert (17-1, 6 KOs) staged a comeback to secure a narrow 10-round unanimous decision victory over Jose “Rayo” Valenzuela (12-2, 8 KOs), despite being knocked down in the first round.
Rayo dominated the first half of the fight, overwhelming Colbert with his power. However, as Rayo began to tire, Colbert seized control in the second half. The judges scored the bout 95-94, 95-94, and 95-94.
In a WBC welterweight title eliminator, undefeated Cody Crowley (22-0, 9 KOs) earned a 12-round majority decision win against Abel Ramos (27-6-2, 21 KOs). The judges’ scores were 116-112 and 115-113 in favor of Crowley, with one judge scoring it a 114-114 draw.
