On Wednesday night at the Palenque de la Expo in Cuidad Obregon, Mexico, in the main event, young contender Luis Torres (17-0, 10 KOs) squared off against Misael Cabrera (14-1, 10 KOs).

As a result of the event, Luis “Koreano” Torres remained undefeated with a 10-round unanimous decision victory over Misael “Pinchon” Cabrera in a WBC Latino title clash. Despite being knocked down by Torres in the second round, Cabrera managed to get himself back into the fight. The judges’ scorecards read 98-91, 96-93, 96-93 in Torres’ favor.

In the co-main event, highly regarded 6’3 super featherweight Oscar Alvarez (9-0, 7 KOs) won an eight-round majority decision over Diego Lopez (3-2-1, 2 KOs). Although Lopez, who is shorter than Alvarez, put up a good fight, he lost on a 78-74, 77-75, 77-77 decision in favor of the hometown fighter.

In the undercard, Mario Valenzuela (5-1, 2 KOs) maintained his dominance with a clever use of jabs, while Alex Fuentes (4-1, 1 KOs) struggled to get in close and retaliate. Despite his efforts, Fuentes was unable to close the distance and his nose took a beating as a result. The fight was decent overall, but the judges scored it appropriately, with Valenzuela winning by a significant margin.
