Amanda Serrano will defend her WBA and WBO featherweight titles against Lucrecia Manzur on Friday in California, with history on the line.
Serrano is tied with Christy Martin on 32 stoppage victories in women’s boxing. A knockout win over Manzur would give the 37-year-old the outright record and also mark her 50th professional victory.
“To tie was an honour, but now we have to break it,” Serrano said. “I don’t like being tied.”
The fight will also become the first world championship boxing event streamed live on TikTok.
Serrano says this will be the penultimate fight of her career, with one final appearance in Puerto Rico planned for later this year or early 2027.
