Anthony Joshua’s long-awaited showdown with Tyson Fury could disappear in a single moment when he faces unbeaten knockout artist Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Joshua is coming off a sixth-round knockout of Jake Paul, while Prenga enters on a 16-fight winning streak with every professional victory coming by stoppage.
The Albanian has not faced an established world-level heavyweight, but his power makes this a dangerous warm-up for Joshua. Any defeat would seriously damage plans for the signed Fury showdown later this year.
Fury must also come through his own tune-up against Mariusz Wach one day earlier. Even if both British heavyweights win, the date and venue for their fight remain unconfirmed, with Wembley Stadium and Cardiff’s Principality Stadium among the possibilities.
The latest episode of NotJustBoxing, Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Is In Serious Trouble.... Again, breaks down why the biggest British heavyweight fight remains far from guaranteed.
