Former four-division world champion Adrien Broner has crowned Terence Crawford as his pound-for-pound King, despite the recent slip in Crawford's ranking due to inactivity. At the same time, Broner believes Gervonta Davis is the most exciting fighter in the sport.

Crawford, who has not fought since his dominating victory over Errol Spence Jr. last July, has seen his position drop from #1 to #3 on the Ring Magazine pound-for-pound list. The current top five are Oleksandr Usyk, Naoya Inoue, Terence Crawford, Canelo Alvarez, and Artur Beterbiev. To reclaim the top spot, Crawford needs to stay active, win his upcoming fight against WBA junior middleweight champion Israil Madrimov on August 3rd, and defeat the winner of the Sebastian Fundora vs. Errol Spence Jr. bout in October.

Broner is set to return to the ring against Blair Cobbs on June 7th at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood. This fight marks Broner’s comeback after a year-long hiatus since his unanimous decision victory over Bill Hutchinson in June 2023.

Speaking to the media, Broner said:

”If we’re talking about who the #1 fighter in boxing, it’s Terence Crawford. But if we’re talking about who the #1 guy in boxing is, it’s Gervonta Davis. When you go to a Tank fight, it’s not just a fight. It’s an event, and the whole world comes to see him.”

Broner also expressed his admiration for Davis, praising his humility despite his wealth and success.

“A lot of people would have taken that position he is now, and they’d be acting different. I respect him the most because he still looks at me as ‘Big bro.’ That’s what I respect about him, and I love him to death.”
