Adam Azim is set to make the first defense of his EBU European super lightweight title in a high-profile boxing event, facing the undefeated former champion Enock Poulsen. This much-anticipated bout is scheduled for Saturday, February 3rd at The OVO Arena Wembley in London, promising to be a highlight for boxing fans, with live broadcasts on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, and Peacock in the USA.

The showdown between Azim and Poulsen will serve as a stellar support to the headline event of the evening - the WBA world title final eliminator between the undefeated light heavyweights Joshua Buatsi and Dan Azeez. Azim (10-0, 7 KOs), only 21 years old, has already made significant waves in the boxing world by dethroning Franck Petitjean and becoming the quickest Englishman to win the European title. His victory not only places him in the league of former champions like Spencer Oliver and “Prince” Naseem Hamed but also marks him as the first British-Pakistani to hold the prestigious title.

His opponent, Poulsen (14-0, 5 KOs), is equally formidable, having claimed the European title himself by defeating Petitjean in April 2022. Poulsen, confident in his abilities and believing himself to be the true titleholder, is determined to reclaim the belt and put an end to Azim’s rapid ascent in the boxing world.

Azim, confident and focused, has expressed his eagerness to defend his title against Poulsen, stating his belief that he is levels above his opponent. Poulsen, on the other hand, is resolute in his conviction that the title rightfully belongs to him and is determined to prove his supremacy in the ring.

Ben Shalom, Founder and CEO of BOXXER, highlighted the significance of this matchup. He praised Azim’s rapid rise to prominence and acknowledged the challenge presented by Poulsen, an undefeated fighter with a legitimate claim to the belt. This bout is not just a title defense for Azim but an “acid test” against a credible and undefeated opponent.
