Promoter Ben Shalom is preparing to feature rising junior welterweight Adam Azim on the undercard of the Chris Eubank Jr vs. Conor Benn fight on April 26, provided Azim comes through his upcoming "exam". The 22-year-old, who impressed with a stoppage win over Ohara Davies in October, will face 35-year-old Sergey Lipinets from Kazakhstan this Saturday at London’s Wembley Arena.

Azim’s bout against Lipinets is being closely watched as a key indicator of whether he can continue his rapid progression. Trainer Shane McGuigan had hoped to see the young fighter return to the ring sooner, emphasizing the importance of regular activity for his development. A strong performance this weekend could fast-track his career, earning him another high-profile platform.

Speaking to BoxingScene ahead of the Lipinets clash, Shalom outlined the plan:

"Activity has been a big part of his progression. He fought on October 12; he fights on February 1st. April 26 is not short – you’ve got almost three months. The key is to keep him active. He’s getting the accolades and the recognition that he deserves as a fantastic fighter coming through. But he’s got a big job first, so we’re going to focus on that and look at what’s after it."

Azim’s potential has already attracted significant interest beyond domestic circles. Investment from Saudi Arabia is reportedly eyeing the young fighter, with discussions that could eventually see him matched against domestic rival Dalton Smith - another fighter accustomed to the big-stage atmosphere in Riyadh. Shalom remarked on Azim’s appeal, stating, "They really like him. I think everyone really likes him in boxing, but he's got to take the necessary steps, keep his feet on the ground, put in big performance after big performance."

Saturday’s fight at Wembley will serve as a crucial stepping stone for Adam Azim. A strong showing against Lipinets could secure him a spot on the Eubank-Benn undercard and reinforce his status as one of Boxxer’s most promising talents.
