IBF middleweight champion Aaron McKenna and WBO titleholder Denzel Bentley have reportedly agreed terms for a unification fight targeted for late 2026.
According to The Ring’s Mike Coppinger, a deal is in place for McKenna and Bentley to meet with both belts on the line, although approval from the IBF and WBO is still required before the fight can be finalized.
The main uncertainty surrounds the WBO, with No. 1 contender Yoenli Hernandez pushing for his mandatory title shot against Bentley. The organization could still allow the unification to proceed and order Hernandez to face the winner.
McKenna won the vacant IBF title by defeating Etinosa Oliha in August, while Bentley became full WBO champion after previously holding the interim belt.
A fight between the pair would also carry strong commercial appeal in either London or Dublin, with Bentley bringing an established British following and McKenna expected to draw significant Irish support.
If sanctioned, the winner would leave with two of the four major middleweight titles and strengthen their position for a possible future unification with WBC champion Carlos Adames.
