George Liddard will defend his British and Commonwealth middleweight titles against former European champion Tyler Denny on March 21 at the Copper Box Arena in London.
The 23-year-old Liddard enters the fight unbeaten at 13-0 (8 KOs) and is coming off a standout performance last October when he stopped Kieron Conway in the tenth round at York Hall. The victory helped establish him as one of the rising names in the domestic middleweight scene.
Despite his recent momentum, Liddard insists he will not underestimate Denny. The defending champion acknowledged that facing a former European titleholder represents the toughest test of his professional career so far, but believes a victory would position him for a future shot at the European title.
Denny, 21-3-3 (1 KO), believes his experience will give him the edge when the two meet. The Midlands fighter has won his last two bouts since a defeat to Hamzah Sheeraz, picking up victories over Grant Dennis and Elvis Ahorgah. He said he respects Liddard but is confident he can take the British and Commonwealth belts back home.
The event will also feature several prospects on the undercard. Lightweight Giorgio Visioli defends his English title against Levi Giles, while middleweight Jimmy Sains takes on Derrick Osaze. Other fighters scheduled to appear include Taylor Bevan, Leli Biuttigieg, Adam Maca, Connor Mitchell and debutant Louie Ward.
