Francesco De Rosa and Thomas Masson will fight for the vacant EBU super bantamweight title in Calangianus, Sardinia.
De Rosa (12-0, 8 KOs) enters unbeaten and continues his rise after two important European-level wins. In 2024, he stopped previously unbeaten Nyan Berry in the UK to claim the IBF European title, then followed it by stopping Geram Eloyan to win the EBU Silver belt.
Masson (24-6-1, 9 KOs) brings far more experience and a strong comeback story. The French veteran began his career at flyweight, won the EBU title in 2015, and challenged Daisuke Naito for the WBC title in 2017.
After years of limited activity, Masson returned seriously in 2024 and rebuilt momentum by winning the French title and the WBC Francophone belt.
The teams reached an agreement before purse bids, with Mario Loreni’s Promoboxe promoting the show. For De Rosa, it is a chance to move from prospect to European champion. For Masson, it is another shot at proving his comeback still has real title weight.
