Joshua Buatsi and Willy Hutchinson are set to meet again, this time with the interim WBC light heavyweight title at stake.
Buatsi defeated Hutchinson by split decision in their first fight in September 2024. The contest was competitive, with Hutchinson dropped twice and also deducted a point in the seventh round.

Despite those setbacks, some observers felt Hutchinson had done enough to win, adding extra interest to the rematch.
Buatsi admitted he was not especially eager to revisit the matchup but said the title opportunity made the fight worthwhile. “If nothing was at stake, I wouldn’t be here,” he said.
Hutchinson, meanwhile, has been pushing for another chance since their first meeting. “I told him two years ago after the fight, ‘I’m gonna get ya,’ and now we’re here,” he said. “I’m gonna win. Simple.”
The rematch will now give both fighters the chance to settle their rivalry with the interim WBC belt on the line.
