Sam Noakes

Sam Noakes is a rising force in British boxing, known for his relentless pressure and knockout power. Born on July 20, 1997, in Maidstone, Kent, Noakes first made a name for himself on the amateur circuit, boxing out of Westree ABC and capturing the England Boxing National Amateur Championships title at light-welterweight. He turned professional in July 2019 under the banner of Frank Warren’s Queensbury Promotions and quickly established himself as a formidable lightweight contender.

Noakes stormed through the professional ranks, amassing a perfect record with a high knockout ratio. He captured the vacant Commonwealth lightweight title in November 2022 with a fourth-round TKO of Calvin McCord at The O2 Arena. His momentum continued in 2024, a breakout year, beginning with a fourth-round stoppage of Lewis Sylvester to claim the British lightweight title and followed by a unanimous decision victory over veteran Yvan Mendy to win the European title in April at York Hall.

He successfully defended the European crown against Italy’s Gianluca Ceglia in September 2024, before vacating the title later that year to focus on domestic challenges. In December 2024, Noakes showcased his skill and stamina in a unanimous decision win over Ryan Walsh, defending both his British and Commonwealth titles. For his accomplishments, he was honored as the 2024 European Boxing Union Male Champion of the Year.

Noakes began 2025 by stopping Patrik Balaz in three rounds at Nottingham Arena, reaffirming his status as one of the most exciting lightweights in Europe.
